The University of Chicago in Illinois is conducting a research study to test an investigational study drug for smoking cessation. This study drug is currently used for the treatment of alcohol and opiate addictions and might also be helpful for nicotine addiction.

The Principal Investigator, Andrea King, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Chicago. She has received a five-year grant from the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA) to examine an investigational study drug in smoking cessation.

The study is called the Chicago STOP Smoking Research Project (C-STOP). Please explore this website to learn more about the study. If you have any additional questions after reviewing the site, please email us at stopsmoking@uchicago.edu.

We are looking for adult smokers in the Illinois Chicagoland area who wish to quit smoking. This website is designed to provide you with more information about the study and what is involved.

To apply for the study, click on the “Apply Now” link at the top of the page. This will take you to a secured and confidential survey.
